Usahawan Muda yang dipanggil Hasif Othman, 26<\/em> merupakan graduan Royal Merboune Institute Technology ( RMIT )<\/em> Melbroune, yang berasal dari Singapura. Beliau mengambil jurusan dalam bidang ekonomi dan kewangan namun mempunyai cita-cita untuk mempunyai perniagaannya sendiri.<\/p>\n

Hasif mengambil peluang dalam dunia perniagaan menjual makanan sementara sektor-sektor perniagaan lain mengalami masalah disebabkan ekonomi yang tengah merundum. Perniagaan yang dijalankan oleh Hasif adalah perniagaan menjual kentang goreng. Beliau mendapat idea untuk menjual kentang goreng adalah ketika berborak dengan kawan dan beliau mendapati idea ini bernas dan boleh untuk dijalankan.<\/p>\n

Hasif dengan bermodalkan SGD 10,000 ( RM 31,500 ) daripada wang simpanan dan juga bantuan daripada ibu dan bapa beliau, Hasif mengambil masa 4 bulan untuk menghasilkan resepi istimewa dan memilih perniagaan yang paling efektif. Menurut beliau ” Katoshka ” diambil kerana untuk jenamanya kelihatan seperti jenama antarabangsa. Katoshka diambil dari perkataan Rusia yang bermaksud kentang.<\/p>\n

Kentang goreng ” Katoshka ” ini diinspirasikan oleh kentang goreng Amsterdam. Kentang yang digunakan oleh jenama Katoshka ini adalah kentang yang berkualiti tinggi kentang Russet yang diimport daripada Amerika Syarikat. Kentang tersebut dipotong dan digoreng dua kali agar kentang tersebut lebih garing, dan dihidang dalam cawan kertas beserta sos yang istimewa.<\/p>\n

Pada permulaan perniagaan Hasif menempuhi cabaran yang sukar, beliau menjual di pasar malam dan ketika itu sistem operasi masih dalam keadaan yang tidak memberangsangkan. Mereka perlu meminta nombor telefon pelanggan kerana hidangan siap dalam 30-40 minit disebabkan ketika itu mereka mempunyai 2 penggoreng sahaja dan pulangan yang amat rendah. Namun pada minggu kedua perniagaan mereka menjadi semakin rancak kerana mendapat bantuan publisiti daripada media massa dan juga sokongan ibu bapa dan rakan-rakan.<\/p>\n

Kini pulangan yang beliau dapat setiap hari diantara RM4,700 hingga RM6,300 mengikut lokasi tertentu. Dengan purata 300 cawan dijual setiap hari.<\/p>\n

Nasihat yang Hasif berikan untuk usahawan-usahawan yang baru dan mahu mencuba dalam dunia perniagaan adalah:-<\/p>\n
